- The 2011 Minister's Report to
Parents and Guardians will be posted on
June 1, 2012. Please visit
http://mrpg.ednet.ns.ca for
information about the Program of
Learning Assessment for Nova Scotia, the
most recent provincial, national, and
international assessment results, and
the 2012-2013 Nova Scotia Assessment
Schedule.
To accompany the online version, 40
copies of the 2011 Minster's Report to
Parents and Guardians brochure will be
distributed to schools on June 1st. This
brochure provides a summary of the
information on the website. Schools may
choose to distribute the brochures to
the SAC and to parents upon request.
Additional copies will be available from
the department.
- Adult Evening Fitness Program:
Various forms of physical activity for
Adults
Mondays—Walking
Tuesdays—Biking
Wednesdays—Running
7:00-8:00 p.m. starting May 14th until
the end of June
Gold River-Western Shore Elementary
- SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS
It is the policy of the South Shore
Regional School Board that all
volunteers, BEFORE working with children
in the schools, MUST complete a Child
Abuse Register form and have a RCMP
Criminal Records Check done. The
necessary information and forms are
available at the School Office. It takes
at least three weeks to process these
forms and both Child Abuse Register and
RCMP Criminal Records Check MUST be
approved and on file at the School
Office before you begin volunteer work
with students.
- If you are able
to assist with the Hot Lunch Program, please
contact the school for more information.
Thank you.
: As a
friendly reminder, I would like to ask
that parents do not send toys to school
with their children. When the children
bring their own toys, it adds the extra
distraction of them either being lost or
broken, which of course is very
unsettling to the toy’s owner.
Additionally in the classroom, the toys
distract from the learning environment
and can complicate the classroom for
everyone. Again, as always, we thank you
for your support.
- Donations of pop and water bottles, etc.,
can be dropped off in the special bin
provided at Adams Transport Bottle Exchange
& Enviro Depot, Gold River. Money
raised will go towards the purchase of
physical educations equipment for the
school.
